When this happens, they look different and they act differently, but they are still the same person. They do this instead of dying, so that they can live longer. A Time Lord can regenerate twelve times in total, when the Master had regenerated twelve times he stole a humans body to keep alive.

重生

另外，关于博士在第三季末，被法师变老之后，样子丑陋。我想那是在同一条命的条件下，比如说，第10任博士现在900岁，如果他几百年都不重生，那么他在外形上就会变老，变丑。一旦他重生了，虽然他可能已经1900岁了，但是他就又可能变年轻。
