John Scalzi的The Last Colony是他那一鸣惊人的《垂暮之战》(Old Man’s War)的第三部。

有三篇跟星云奖的候选作品相同:Nancy Kress的Fountains of Age,Lucius Shepard的Stars Seen Through Stone和Gene Wolfe的Memorare。 All Seated on the Ground是一篇为圣诞节写的应景小说。

The Merchant and the Alchemist's Gate也从星云奖的候选里杀到雨果奖了。 The Cambist and Lord Iron: a Fairytale of Economics和David Moles的Finisterra作者和故事都没有听说过。

Mike Resnick(《随猫旅行》,《机器人不哭》,《海王星上的大象》作者)和Michael Swanwick(《狗说旺旺》的作者)都是雨果奖短篇的获奖大户,就不用多说了。
