Stanley H Tweedle

人物档案：前任四级安全警卫，前任“特级”南部异教徒，现任Lexx号船长。他也是全体船员中唯一一个人类。Stanley在为异教徒们走私某种货物时被“他影”帝国军队抓获，被迫加入帝国军队，成为安全警卫成员。幸运的是，他没有因为信仰异教而被处死，只因为“他影”帝国需要从他口中获取更多有关那些反叛异教徒的信息。尽管他“打入敌人内部”的故事听起来很勇敢，但事实上Stanley这么做的唯一原因就是为了个人的面子，而且在帝国的住宿巡洋舰上，他还可以享受不花钱的男欢女爱。他阴差阳错地卷入了Lexx号的被盗事件，本来应该接受帝国的处分，但就在其他人不注意的时候，他溜之大吉了。巧合的是，他还稀里糊涂成了能够指挥Lexx号战舰的唯一船员。

Stanley 是一个“自私自利的、爱慕虚荣的、年老好色的、没有特别之处的”家伙（语出自后来成为他情人的Xev小姐之口）。而且他的自我倾向还相当强烈。但是当我们深入地了解Stanley这个人，我们会发现他有一副好心肠，他总想比自己看起来更具有英雄气概，他真的想当英雄……



Xev Bellringer

Xev Bellringer是一个准新娘，正被装在一个盒子送往“新家”。因为她总是不听从父母的吩咐，喜欢“自行其是”，反对包办婚姻，父母只好出此下策。不幸的是，她那个还只是黄毛小子的准新郎不但不好好待她，反而把她卸载在祭坛上（说实话，她长得不敢恭维）想宣布她是他的爱奴，她也因此把他赶了出去。祭坛把Xev变成了一个苗条性感的银发美女，但是人类的调节参数出了问题，取而代之的是，部分从林蜥蜴的DNA植入了她体内（这段要看原剧，我也不太懂）……现在等闲两三个彪形大汉也近不了她的身，没人敢惹火她了。

Xev已经变过三次身了，她最开始叫做Zev，一个漂亮的爱奴。不幸的是，当一群疯狂的科学家想从Lexx身上获取原子结构时，Zev为救Kai（另一主角）的命被杀了。幸运的是，一种食肉植物具有重新组合蛋白质的能力，从Zev的遗体中重新“建造”了她，她也就变成了剧中的Xev。

Xev对其他船员充满了关怀，包括那个总想方设法和她上床的Stanley。她个人爱恋着Kai，但最后，Kai死了……




Kai, Last of the Brunnen-G

Kai是一个充满浪漫幻想主义色彩的种族中唯一的幸存者，大约2000年前，他为了保卫自己的星球，率领几个敢死队勇士向来犯的“他影”帝国舰队发起了悲剧式的自杀反击。星球最终被摧毁了，Kai的尸体被“他影”帝国虏获，并且被改造成一个没有灵魂的冷血刺客。当秘密反抗“他影”帝国的异教徒们获得了Lexx号战舰，Kai被帝国指派去追踪这帮反贼。但没有想到的是，Kai意外恢复了往日的记忆，他加入了Lexx的船员行列。

Kai完全了解自己已经死亡多年的事实，他对自己个人未来如何发展完全没有概念。他只是看到Lexx上的船员们对他没有恶意，而且他们做了很多正义之举，才答应留在这个集体中。他并不总是和船员们的看法一致，特别是当船员们试图获得一些他自己认为谁也不该得到的东西，他就会站出来唱反调。由于已经死亡，他的身体处于一种持续的退化之中，因此当谁也不需要他时，他会在休眠仓中沉睡，以保存体内“特别血液”的能量，这种填充在他体内的“特别血液”维持着他的生命。Kai没有任何主动性的思维，没有真正的感情，有时还会表现得很愚钝，这让总想和他在床上“成其好事”的Xev小姐很沮丧（注：我看Lexx号上不是色鬼就是花痴）。Kai还有一个让人欲罢不能的好习惯：在某些不合时宜的关键时刻，他会变得非常狂热，缓解大家的紧张气氛。



790

790是一个机器人，或者说一个“机器头”更合适，他的身体被丛林蜥蜴吃掉了，因此和Xev有千丝万缕的联系。他第一眼看到Xev就深深地爱上了她，却总是被她愚弄。790恨死了Stanley，因为他是790最大的情敌。790对Kai倒是可以容忍，因为Kai看起来对Xev没什么感觉，而且还多次在关键时刻救了Xev的命，这让790很感激。790总是不停在说话，讲那些肉麻的话，全是关于Xev的，这搅得Stanley一天到晚不得安宁。790最大的愿望就是找到一个无头的身体把自己安上去，这样他就可以和Xev很甜美很甜美地XXX了（天哪，机器人也在想这个………）。在第三季中，他从某座桥的边缘摔了下去，这让他受到了严重损害，几乎完全毁掉，是Kai修好了他。搞笑的是，随着他智能大脑的重新启动，储存在其中的爱情指令也随之重启，现在790把目光转向了Kai。他认为自己是一个女性，Kai是她的真命天子……可怜透顶的两个家伙。



Lexx

Lexx is a bio-mechanical spaceship and the most powerful weapon known to man. It was grown on the Cluster by His Shadow who intended to use it to blow up any troublesome planets that got a bit lippy. He is not the brightest of spaceships, and has a habit of accidentally blowing things up (usually planets) if not instructed very clearly by Stan, who is now his master. Being bio-mechanical, Lexx's fuel is organic material and he needs to eat regularly to build up reserves. This involves him sometimes detouring a little to pick up tasty "snacks" such as garbage planets, other spaceships, genetic waste pods, and theatres. In season 3 the Lexx is out of fuel to such an extent that he cannot move anymore and is stuck in orbit until the crew can find something for him to eat.  




His Shadow/Mantrid

His Divine Shadow was the nasty evil ruler of the League of 20,000 Planets. He was a being who could transfer his essence from one body to another, making him effectively immortal. The reason for this was that His Shadow was actually an insect; a lone survivor of the insect wars which the Brunnen-G had won thousands of years ago. The insect passed its essence into a human host and created the Divine Order which was eventually destroyed by Kai. His body dead, His Shadow passed his essence back into the insect body that he's originally come from that had lain dormant but growing for thousands of years under the Cluster. This was the Gigashadow, a very large and angry insect that intended to wipe out the whole human race, and was doing quite a good job of it until it was destroyed in a collision with the fractal core whilst trying to catch the Lexx. Part of the insect essence was passed to Kai, unbeknownst to him, forcing him to go back to the cluster to try to find another insect to pass it on to. The larval insect that Kai discovered was taken to Mantrid, a bio-vizier who had been imprisoned years ago by His Shadow for being too dangerous. When the insect larva was reanimated, and Kai mortally wounded Mantrid, Mantrid's assistant used the insect's transferrence organ to transfer the mind of his beloved master into a small pod-like machine that Mantrid had been going to use as an escape vessel from the prison. This left Mantrid a confused chap, now being part man, part insect, part machine and all bad, inheriting the insect's hatred for all humanity and being intent on its complete and utter destruction.




Lyekka

Lyekka is a flesh-eating plant who reads dreams to find prey. When we say flesh-eating, we actually mean man-eating, but she would eat animals if there was nothing else. She arrived on the Lexx in a pod which was attracted there by Stanley's dream of Lyekka, a girl he went to school with. The plant took on the form of Lyekka and this is her chosen form to appear in, although her natural state seems to be almost liquid and she can take on other forms. Stan is very keen on Lyekka, even though she has no sexual organs, and Lyekka seems to also like Stan, and doesn't want to eat him unless absolutely necessary. Lyekka has the ability to recreate proteins and it was her who brought Xev back to life when she had been pulverised into protein goo, as a gift for Stanley. She also would not eat Kai, because he is dead. She has been very useful on a number of occasions by eating unwanted guests on the Lexx. When not hungry, she stays dormant in her pod, which hangs high above the bridge of the Lexx, emerging every now and again to eat.  At the end of season 2 Lyekka shows bravery beyond the call of duty by sabotaging Mantrid's attempts to destroy the Light Universe and gives her own life. But of course on the Lexx people don't always stay as dead as they were.  




Prince

In Season 3, Prince is the "Ruler" of the Fire planet and the one who first manages to get aboard the Lexx and bring the crew back to Fire. An odd character is our Prince, very seductive and empathetic (especially with Xev) but at the same time cold, hard, cruel and "good with pain". He controls the precious supply of water on Fire and is constantly in danger of losing his power due to takeover bids staged by other rulers on the planet. His only goal seems to be to destroy Water. Whether this is jealousy of its plentiful lifestyle or whether there is another reason becomes clearer towards the end of the season. When angered he has a lizard-like ruff which extends from the back of his neck, but he doesn't tend to stay angry for long as he'd rather do something about it. Like kill someone.
Prince is also, it turns out, unkillable. Well, he's easy enough to kill it's just that he doesn't stay dead. He can reincarnate wherever and as whoever he pleases, which you can imagine causes all sorts of trouble for our beloved Lexx crew.

各位反映真冷淡……我现在力推此剧。趁着下载人数多，大家赶紧下载，错过了就很难再补回来。
我已经下完差不多三季了。

看了一集，觉得不知怎么的就被故事的情节和充满异域色彩的画面吸引了，感觉这部片子有点同<<遥远星际>>相似，但又不同，片中带有很多黑色喜剧效果，是一部很特别的科幻剧，值得欣赏：)

我等着老大翻成中文啊。。。。。。

Kai is played magnificently by Michael McManus.

Kai is an old geezer. In fact he's been dead for 2000 thousand years and is kept alive by a substance called proto-blood which animates his vital organs and stops him from decomposing. To help preserve his supply of proto-blood, Kai must return to a cryogenic chamber and lay in stasis when not needed.

If you were to meet Kai in a pub you would do so without your girlfriend and you would not be impressed with his humour - cos he doesn't have any. He would be a lot more popular with the ladies than the blokes who would probably make fun of his hairdo. You would not be stupid enough to pick a fight with Kai.

We first see Kai as the leader of his people making a valiant but futile attempt to save his race from extinction in a space fight between his squadron of little spaceships against the massive planet killer battleship of His Divine Shadow, the Foreshadow.

Kai looses and His Shadow decides to take his memory and that the last of the Brunnen G should become an assassin for the Divine Order. He is able to supply enough proto-blood for Kai to finish whatever job he needs him to do. Over a 2000-year period, Kai kills many thousands of people dispassionately and coldly. He is not able to resist His Shadow or account, morally for his actions and does not remember his previous life.

Kai's final 'job' for His Shadow, is to rescue the LEXX from a band of Heretics accompanied by Zev, Stanley and 790. He almost manages to do this before regaining his memory and 'essence' from a Divine Predecessor (who was the 'His Shadow' that killed him in the first place - confusing huh). Kai becomes a goodie after this, and endeavours to save our heroes every time there is a crisis - and there are many.

Zev Bellringer is in love with Kai (because she doesn't know any better, she hasn't met me for instance, it really bugs me this and......), Stanley Tweedle is in awe and a little frightened of him. 790 looks on the dead bloke with an air of jealous respect. He is an integral part of the crew.

He has a very handy Wrist Gadget, a sharp pincer action claw that he is able to shoot from his wrist. He is deadly accurate and has used it as a weapon of death, dispatching many a baddie (and goodie) during his employment.

Kai stated in the second episode that he would like to spend the rest of his animated life with Zev. I can't tell whether this is because he fancies her, or because he is appreciative of her love or because she tirelessly strives to find a way to keep him alive/animated. Whatever the reason, we see that there is at least some feeling there and this makes you warm to the character a little more.

The Time Prophet, says that the Last of the Brunnen G will destroy His Divine Shadow and end the Divine Order of the League of 20,000 planets. Kai obliges, first by killing the body of His Shadow, then by squashing part of his brain and still later by letting loose his pet Cluster Lizard, Squish to eat the other part of his brain (His Shadow is a hard bloke to kill). The prophesy is realised and now all Kai has to worry about is if he can get some more proto-blood to keep himself animated.

Actually, he doesn't really give a damn. If it wasn't for Zev insisting, he'd quite happily just waist away. Nevertheless, Zev does manage to find a healthy supply of proto-blood and Kai is saved in the final hour.

At the start of each episode (from episode two at least) we hear Kai say, "In the Light Zone I was darkness, Perhaps in the Dark Zone, I will be light". This is an indication that the feels some remorse for his animated existence of death and destruction and possibly wants to make amends. Whatever, I'm sure Kai will be as entertaining, if not more so, in the forthcoming series.

In one interview, Michael McManus who plays Kai, talked about a fan that wrote to the production team and asked that 'Kai’s head should not be chopped off so much!' They will be disappointed!   Kai goes on to talk about the way he gradually manages to regain some of the characteristic of his fast-living life, before that is, His Shadow commandeered his libido!  The TV interviewer called Kai the Jimmy Dean of the walking dead! (Cool description!)

Michael McManus has definitely added a few characteristics of his own and made the part much more believable.  In my opinion it is very difficult to 'carry off' the coldness and the warmth that this character demands. He has done this in a number of ways. Girls all around the world have melted at the 'quivering jaw' and even us blokes have looked-on quizzically at Kai's walk.  It's an unusual walk this, a mixture between John Wayne and a wobble. These little characteristics stop Kai from seeming wooden.

I don't have much info on Michael McManus.

Michael McManus studied at the University of Alberta in Canada, he has acted in a number of films but, I believe his heart is in the theatre. The only stuff I've been able to find out on the net is of a controversy in Canada when Michael decided to leave a show causing it to end it's run prematurely. Much was made of this in the press, a little unfairly I think.

In a recent promotional visit to London (June 1999), Michael McManus was not only friendly and attentive, but he also demonstrated a charm and friendliness to his fans that is rarely seen.  Male and female fans found him charming and talkative.
